The Los Angeles Knight Riders have had a mixed bag type of a tournament so far, where they have put up fighting performances yet haven’t been on the winning side consistently. As they move into their Morrisville leg, LAKR will be aiming to bounce back into the tournament and pick up an important win against SFU. The last time these two sides clashed against each other, it was SFU who had the wood over LAKR. However, the Knight Riders will be looking to comeback, put up a strong performance and pick-up the win.
PITCH & GROUND CONDITIONS:
All throughout the season, the pitches in Morrisville have been a mixed bag, with some high scoring games. With all the rain around the stadium, one can expect the pitch to have enough moisture, albeit being an afternoon game. It will be interesting to see how the pitch behaves in the upcoming game.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
Jason Roy
Jason Roy finally came to the party in the previous game against Seattle where he adapted to the conditions beautifully and churned out an outstanding knock. He will be aiming to continue the good form in the upcoming game and score another sensational knock to put LAKR ahead in the game.
David Miller
David Miller has been a key player in the middle order for LAKR and has fired down the order when needed the most. His incredible knock in the last game was a testament of his top notch skillset. LAKR will need another one if Miller’s thumping knocks for them to be able to get ahead in the game.
Ali Khan
Ali has been a reliable bowler for LAKR throughout this tournament and skipper Sunil Narine has trusted him in important situations. His execution just keeps getting better and he has delivered some amazing performances time and time again. LAKR will be hoping for another special performance from Ali, to help them come back in the tournament and bag an important win.
All in all, LAKR will be eager to get onto the field and put on an impressive performance. Crucial two points will be at stake as the middle phase of the tournament heats up and we move towards the race to the playoffs. All to play for in Morrisville!
